CGSL Softball is an organization designed to teach girls the game of softball and how to have fun and work as a team toward a common goal. The CGSL relies on devoted adult volunteers to help ensure that the organization remains structured and runs smoothly. We are always looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to support and coordinate league events and activities. As a volunteer, you should have a keen interest in the safety, well-being, and overall development of children. By volunteering, you will discover that the benefits are endless.
Who Can Volunteer?
Anyone can apply to become a volunteer. Whatever talents or skills you have, we can use them! All parents of children involved in CGSL are strongly encouraged to volunteer. As a parent volunteer, you have the opportunity to spend quality time with your child in a safe, fun-filled environment. Volunteering allows your life and your child's life to intersect on common ground, with shared interests and goals.
On rare occasions, the CGSL may deny individuals the privilege of volunteering for reasons, past or present, that may be detrimental to the positive development of young girls. When you apply to become a volunteer, you give the CGSL the right to conduct necessary background checks. This is for the safety and well-being of the girls in the league.
How Do I Become A Volunteer?
Parents, take a minute to fill out the volunteer form while registering your child. The volunteer application form is availble under the Coaching Information tab - click on Volunteer application.
What Can I Volunteer To Do?
No experience is required to become a volunteer. You will be provided with any necessary training (as well as support and encouragement), as is necessary. The best volunteers are those who are able to bring added enjoyment to the game simply be being themselves. Once registration closes, if you are selected for a coaching position, you will be contacted by the CGSL with information on the start of the season.
Thank you for considering volunteering in the CGSL. Without volunteers, the league would not be possible.
